MoonDance, by Annette Hendricks, was entered into the 2006 Minnesota Quilters,Inc. Quilt Show and Conference. It was placed into the “Master’s Division”….and won second place in that category!!! This is an original design based on a photograph Annette took of her daughter. In it, we see a choreography of two spirits celebrating the harvest moon and the Great Spirit who created us all. It utilizes three 10-step custom hand-dyed graduations, dye and acrylic painting and a technique Annette calls “relief quilting”. Next, it won First Place in the People, Portraits, and Figures category at 2006 Quilts: A World of Beauty Presented by the International Quilt Association in Houston, TX. |
